ChatGPT Got Your Tongue?

Digital marketing is all about creating content that resonates. Marketers use their instinct, experience and consumer analysis to inform strategy.

Much of this requires human capital and thought. So how will ChatGPT — considered by some as the biggest disruptor in advertising — play a role?

At KMG, we believe in harnessing new technology for good. That said, all new tools come with advantages as well as limitations.

Here are a few things we love about ChatGPT:

  • The creator is from St. Louis!

  • It can automate key communications activities that don’t depend on a human behind the message (chat bots, customer service phone support).

  • It’s fun and new; innovation is cool!

What we don’t love:

  • Certain activities (ie. Social media management, email marketing) need a human behind the message to avoid the all-too-familiar robotic response.

  • Potential inaccuracies that come with automation.

We agree with Forbes that “there will always be the need for the user’s input, review and guidance that AI simply cannot create.” Rest assured, we won’t be handing the wheel over to AI for any of our clients’ social media content creation and hitting snooze.

Humans will remain in charge at KMG but we never ignore a good modern tool!

PS. A human wrote this! ;)
